Makeup of parliamentary delegations to be approved in first sitting of legislature

The composition of the parliamentary delegations will be agreed in the first sitting of the spring-summer session, Head of Parliament Marian Lupu said Tuesday. He told the press that he instructed the chairman of the commission on foreign policy and European integration Igor Corman to deal with this matter, Info-Prim Neo reports. “It is rather hard to decide who will form part of the permanent delegations as the proportionality should be observed. This matter is often a bone of contention,” said the Speaker. Marian Lupu voiced hope that the members of the delegations to the Moldova-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Euronest Eastern Partnership will be selected by the first sitting of the Parliament that will take place in February. The Head of Parliament also said that Tuesday he discussed this issue with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel. He stressed that the European official expressed interest mainly in the prospect of approving the composition of the Moldovan delegation to the Interparliamentary Cooperation Committee.
