Majority of Russians in Moldova say their rights are violated

Most of the Russian people stating that their rights are permanently violated are from Moldova, data of the “Russian Diaspora of the CIS states” Survey, conducted by the Institute of the CIS States and commissioned by the Russian Foreign Ministry show.
According to the study, Russians in Moldova complain about encroachments upon the employment rights – 22.2%, rights to study – 10%, social-political activity – 11.2%. At the same time, almost 27% of the Russian people consider that the authorities are forcing them to leave the country.
60% of the Russian population of Moldova is ready to leave it in order to move to Russia under the programme carried out by the Moscow Government in this respect. Also, 61% of the Russian population in Kazakhstan, 42% - in Kirgizstan, 23% - in Armenia, 20% - in Ukraine, etc., are willing to leave the host-country.
According to data of the 2004 census, more than 200 thousand people of Russian ethnicity, which is about 6% of the total number of the population, were living in Moldova.
