Majority of Chisinau’s schools ready for new school year

Majority of the pre-higher education institutions from Chisinau are ready for the new school year, responsible from the municipal educational department say. According to Tatiana Nagnibeda, interim head of the General Department for Education, Science, Youth and Sports of Chisinau municipality, repair works were performed in 140 pre-higher education institutions and in 15 at 80%. The quoted source says that the repair works will not affect the education process. The cost of the works performed in 277 education institutions amounts to MDL 3.68 mln. Nagnibeda states that of the total volume of MDL 22 mln planned for the repair works of 189 institutions from Chisinau, only 65% were allocated, fact which does not allow finishing these works. At the same time the prophylaxis and testing works of the heating systems in the education institutions were 77% performed. The works were finished in 249 institutions out of 320. A week ago, the mayors of some localities of Chisinau municipality were complaining about the low preparation level for the new school year, caused by the lack of available funds in the local budgets. Major problems are registered in the schools from Condrita, Ghidighici, Bacioi, Durlesti, Hulboaca and Cruzesti.
