14 people were arrested following 145 searches carried out in a major anti-drug operation, over the course of two days, in 26 districts of Moldova.
A Capital Police press release states that the operation was carried out on September 5 and 6 and resulted in the seizure of over 7 kg of marijuana, 50 gram of heroin, 10 gram of dry methadone and other drugs.
Moreover, as a result of the searches, the investigators took hold of three firearms without origin documents and 21 combat bullets bullets.
The 14 detained persons are thought to be guilty of drug possession and trading, while other 48 persons are suspected of illicit drug trafficking.
"The investigation continues in order to establish all the circumstances and to identify all involved persons", the statement said.
