The main suspect in the murder of the Moldovan doctor Marina Gavril, in a dental office in Brăila, Romania, was detained and later arrested for 30 days. According to Romanian press reports, it is a 39-year-old man with a criminal record, IPN reports.

The quoted source said that the man does not admit his guilt. He told the investigators that he was in the doctor’s office, but not at the time when the investigators believe the murder took place.

For their part, the investigators on the case maintain their accusations and say they have evidence proving that the man was at the dental office at the time the murder took place. The suspect was detected and detained strictly on the basis of biological samples collected from the crime scene.

The first conclusions of the investigation into the case show that the victim was killed in 33 seconds. The murder was premeditated. The killer changed his clothes several times. At the same time, the victim’s phone, which was the only thing missing from the dental office, has not yet been found, but neither has been the murder weapon – a knife with a blade.

Digi24 wrote that the police do not have clear clues about the motive for the murder, because the suspect did not cooperate. The main hypothesis would be another robbery attempt by the man, which did not go as he would have liked. It is possible that he asked for money, jewelry, items the victim had in the office. She refused and then he became aggressive and killed her. Other sources write that the version of a contract murder is not excluded either.

Marina Gavril, 41, was found dead in her own dental office in Braila on July 16, with several stab wounds in the neck. The woman will be buried in the Republic of Moldova.
