The main arteries in the districts of Rascani and Ciocana of Chisinau, except for the streets that are usually closed in winter, have been unblocked, the Chisinau City Hall announces in a press release issued at 1pm.
All the kindergartens of Chisinau, 62 apartment buildings and the municipal hospitals have been reconnected to the centralized heating system. Hospital No.1 is an exception as the heating system there is being modernized, but its Maternity Block and Pediatric Block are being supplied with heat. Saint Trinity Hospital and Maternity Hospital No. 2 were not reconnected to the heat supply, but the wards there are heated with electrical devices.
A number of 25 cases of tree falling were reported in the first half of Friday. These fell on buildings and damaged windows or balconies of apartments or roofs.
Action continues to be taken all over the municipality of Chisinau to gradually deal with the consequences of heavy snowfalls.
