Maib, in partnership with the Technical University of Moldova (UTM), announced the launch of a scholarship programme aimed at female students of technical disciplines, such as IT, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Maib awarded five scholarships (each worth MDL 15,000) to UTM female students to reward academic performance and involvement in extracurricular activities and volunteering. The scholarships are specifically aimed at women, who tend to be underrepresented in the technical disciplines. This way maib promotes full inclusion of women in the Moldovan labour market, encourages young women to opt for a career in IT and other technical fields, and supports their aspirations in technology.

The 5 recipients of the "You drive IT" scholarships were awarded at the Graduates Gala of the Technical University of Moldova:

  • Arina Carauș – 3rd year student, Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics
  • Iulia Berghii – 4th year student, Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics
  • Alexandra Țaranu – 3rd year student, Faculty of Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics
  • Ilinca Osipov – 3rd year student, Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications

With the 'You drive IT' scholarship program, we aim to support the personal and professional development of future leaders, with a special focus on female technology leaders as an integral part of our vision for an equitable and fair labor marketplace.”

Viorel Bostan, Rector of UTM:

At UTM, we are dedicated to creating an academic environment that enables and encourages women to pursue successful careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. Women leaders' contributions will significantly improve our technological world's future.

Winners of the "You drive IT" Scholarship Program have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and a strong commitment to extracurricular activities and volunteering.

I want to reiterate our commitment to supporting future women leaders in technology and promoting a culture of excellence.
