The team of the candidate for President of the Party “Action and Solidary” (PAS) Maia Sandu denied a number of assertions about the candidate, naming these false. In a news conference, Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei, a member of the Political Bureau of the PAS, said that a number of severe blows were given to Maia Sandu during the last few days. The fact that the Socialist candidate for President Igor Dodon resorted to manipulation by using the problem of suicide among children is base, IPN reports.

“He came before the people with incorrect figures, with insinuations that the suicide is the result of measures applied in the education system. We reproach him for such statements. We tell him that loneliness is a cause for suicide and many children in Moldova resort to such acts because they remain home alone, without parents. He should be ashamed for such manipulations in the media. This is base and he wants to become President by such actions,” stated Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei.

PAS secretary Igor Grosu said that in the debates with his opponent Maia Sandu, Igor Dodon didn’t answer the questions put to him, especially those about his incomes as a public servant and about the trips he made by the plane of Vlad Plahotniuc (first deputy chairman of the PDM) and how he raised a loan that is much larger than his official incomes. “According to the press, Igor Dodon was personally involved in the planning of meat and metal exports. He and the team he managed earlier at the Ministry of Economy thought up such schemes. The assertion that Maia Sandu’s trip to Doha was a private one is not true. There is a Cabinet decision showing that she formed part of a delegation that included other ministers or officials,” stated the politician.

Virgil Paslariuc, a member of the PAS National Political Council, said only the irresponsible politicians can divide the people by ethnicity or language, into patriots or non-patriots, faithful or non-faithful. “The false assertions about the Syrians, the Church, Masons continue to be disseminated even if they were refuted. The involvement of the Church is this campaign is worrisome. The mission of the Church is to unite, not divide,” he stated.

The PAS members called on the people of good faith to mobilize and go from home to home to explain those who didn’t vote why it is important to exercise their vote and not to believe lies.
