President-elect Maia Sandu said she will detach herself from the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) that she heads until January 20, as the law provides. She aims to be the President of everybody and will be making effort in this regard and this means respect for all the people – those who voted for her, those who didn’t vote for her or those who speak Romanian, Gagauz, Ukrainian or Russian, IPN reports.
“This is a key issue on my agenda as I believe that only united we can overcome these difficult times and only united we can cope with the challenges and implement difficult reforms that need to be implemented. We must do the major changes required especially when it goes to the elimination of corruption and of the influences of these corruption clans,” stated Maia Sandu.
The President-elect noted that the recent presidential elections to a certain extent managed to ensure unity and she will work so that this unity is strengthened in the interests of all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
