President Maia Sandu says the Republic of Moldova stands by Ukraine in obtaining concrete guarantees that will bring lasting peace. She supports measures that strengthen Ukraine's security and prevent future aggression. It's not just about Ukraine - it's about everyone's security. The statements were made at the online summit on Ukraine, held three years after the Russian invasion began, IPN reports.

"I remember that morning three years ago. It was 4 o'clock. I read the news with horror. I woke up, went to the office and from there I heard the explosions. Odessa... maybe Vinnitsa. At that moment nobody knew where the next bomb would hit," the head of state said.

According to Maia Sandu, today it is known with certainty - Ukraine's courage ensured Moldova's security and peace: "The courage and sacrifice of the Ukrainian people protected us from war. For this, we will always be grateful to you. And we will never forget".

Three years later, Russia's brutal and murderous war continues. The Kremlin's aggression has brought suffering and destruction on a scale not seen in Europe since World War II. Just yesterday, Ukraine was hit by the biggest drone attack since the invasion began.

"Russia does not seek peace. Yet the world talks about peace. But peace must be just, lasting and real. A compromised peace that ignores Ukraine's security or marginalizes Europe will not end the threat - it will only postpone it. A false peace - one that allows Putin to regroup, rearm and invade again - is not peace", says Maia Sandu.

That is why, she says, we must remain united, or Russia's goal is to create divisions - between allies, between countries, within societies.

"Security guarantees are essential so that history does not repeat itself. To stop Putin from deceiving the world. For Russia to stop bringing death to other nations. The world needs real security guarantees - clear, strong, that can be effectively implemented", added Maia Sandu.

In her opinion, the response must be firm and the support - unwavering, because Ukraine is not only fighting for itself, but for all of us. "As long as Ukraine resists, Moldova resists, Europe resists. Let's make sure that we don't just assist, we act", Sandu said.

The summit "Unity Defense and Security Strategy. Action Plan" is organized at the initiative of Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski. The event brings together 35 leaders from around the world, and at least 13 European dignitaries are in Kiev, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
