If the 660 prosecutors of Moldova implement the law and do not obey the illegal instructions of Eduard Harunjen and Adrianei Bețișor, these will have the country on their side, stated Prime Minister Maia Sandu who in a press briefing on July 5 asked all the prosecutors to act in accordance with the law, IPN reports.

Maia Sandu made reference to the news conference given on July 4 by Prosecutor General Eduard Harunjen and deputy chief Anticorruption Prosecutor Adriana Bețișor, who, according to her, tried to show that they investigate the banking fraud, but failed lamentably. “The theft of the US$ 1 billion and other resounding cases remain stagnant,” stated the Premier.

She requested the 660 prosecutors working in Moldova to behave like real prosecutors and not to stay hidden in offices until the administration is changed. “The administration will be replaced. Moreover, Eduard Harunjen will answer in accordance with the law as billions of lei were stolen from the state owing to his actions and inaction,” noted Maia Sandu.

She called on the prosecutors to work only in the national interests that have been seriously affected in the recent past. She said the task of prosecutors is to prevent the further robbing of the state.

“Each day that you do nothing is a lost day for the country. Each day that you stay in offices, the criminals hide the money and assets stolen from the he state and the citizens,” stated Maia Sandu, addressing the prosecutors of Moldova.

Premier Sandu assured that the country will take sides with the prosecutors if these stop being afraid, apply the law and do not obey the illegal instructions of Harunjen and Bețișor”. “No one will demand something else than you to act like prosecutors. No one will demand something else than the implementation of the law so that the citizens and the state are protected through this,” she noted.
