Former minister of education Maia Sandu decided to enter politics. In an interview for Radio Free Europe, she said that during the last few months she was encouraged by many people to take such a decision, IPN reports.

“The truth is my weapon and the weapon of the people with whom I want to take this step. We are upright and non-discredited persons. We think this weapon is sufficiently powerful to beat manipulation, lies and any other instruments of those who will want to prevent the appearance of such a movement and of a party afterward,” stated Maia Sandu.

She believes that such a political class and such well-intentioned people can exist. “Our message is a positive one, but also a harsh one for those who broke the law over the last few years and hoped that they will be never penalized. We consider things can be changed and the system can and should work for the interests of the honest, correct, hardworking people,” said the ex-minister.

Maia Sandu underlined it is important to bring together as many sympathizers and supporters as possible. “We will have to cover a more difficult path to the registration of the party. Given the closed character of the political system of the Republic of Moldova – I mean the fact that those who are in power formulated the laws and procedures so as not to have opponents – we will have to go through a difficult period to be able to meet all the conditions and register a party,” she stated.

Maia Sandu launched the platform unpaspentru.md through which she informs the people about her plans and attracts new supporters.
