President Maia Sandu said that those who are born nowadays in seven years should go to the first grade European citizens. According to her, the country objective is for the Republic of Moldova to become a full-fledged member of the European family in 2030. At the European Moldova Assembly, the official said that it is everyone’ duty to help make Moldova richer and more modern so that the citizens are proud of it, IPN reports.

“Moldova’s transformation into a European state means a road at whose end we will be proud of making a correct choice. It won’t be an easy road, but it won’t be easy or hard because the Moldovans picked it. We chose it because it is the only chance for Moldova to develop. It is the road that we, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, chose for our country to no longer be on the outskirts of Europe and be subject to Russian blackmail,” said President Sandu.

She noted that a European future means developed villages and towns. Moldova is often applauded and appreciated by those who are outside the country and is criticized by those who are in the country. “We should change our stance on Moldova, should respect each other and be better towards each other. Those with possibilities should help those who need support. Those who are well-off should contribute to developing our villages,” stated the official.

President Sandu said that the history up to now was a resistance history, but from now on it will be a history about Moldova’s transformation into a European state equal to the most developed countries of the world. “We should together rebuild a European Moldova of which we will be proud. The divisions of the past should come to an end. Time has come to leave aside the things that divide us and to see what things unite us. We have a common wish to live freely in a European state. We are united by the conviction that the Moldovans deserve to be happy at home and to decide their fate themselves. We are united by hope that in seven years we will look into the eyes of Moldova’s children proud of our decisions and will see in them optimism and joy.”

According to the official, a European Moldova means a Moldova with powerful and reliable friends that will not abandon it in front of aggressors that bring wars and kill people. “We can be safe only together with the European family. The war is now far from the homes of Moldovans because the Ukrainians fight heroically and sacrifice their lives for their land and nation. This war made us realize that we no longer want to live under the Kremlin’s blackmail. We want to keep our country and children far from the dangers of war. Only as part of the European Union, we will not be alone and will have the guarantee of safety and peace for Moldovans,” said Maia Sandu, noting that peace and welfare are in Europe and Moldova should join the EU until 2023.
