The candidate for President of the Party “Action and Solidary” (PAS) Maia Sandu said the presidential runoff was neither correct nor free, while the opponents used unfair methods, including illegally obtained money, manipulation, administrative resources and even special services. She noted that proofs of the committed illegalities will be presented to the Constitutional Court, IPN reports.

Maia Sandu told a news conference that she repeatedly requested to dismiss the president of the Central Election Commission and the minister of foreign affairs for obstructing the right to vote of the Moldovans. All the institutions controlled by the current government cynically neglected tens of thousands of people in these elections. The people are those who suffer the consequences of these elections, while Vlad Plahotniuc is the real winner and profiteer.

Maia Sandu thanked all the people who voted in the runoff and showed exemplary mobilization. “Dear people, we have a lot of work to do yet. Your votes are not simple votes. They are revived hopes that we will live in a country without oligarchs and in a developed country,” said the PAS leader.

She also said she respects the electors who voted for her opponent, but time will show the real intentions of this man. “We must all understand that we cannot live better in a country that fell into the trap of corruption,” stated Maia Sandu.

With 100% of the votes cast in the presidential runoff counted, Igor Dodon polled 52.18% of the ballot, while Maia Sandu – 47.82%.
