The Constitutional Court has decided: European integration will be introduced into the Constitution. President Maia Sandu said that this battle was won together and the objective was achieved. "It is your merit, dear citizens. Thanks to your vote, we were stronger than their theft," the head of state said after the Court pronounced its decision to validate the referendum results, IPN reports.
Maia Sandu, who is running for a new term in office, said that another battle will be fought this Sunday so that the accession to the European Union becomes a reality as soon as possible.
"Dear citizens, great things are done step by step. The first step was taken. The second step remained - to win the election on Sunday. And immediately after that, we should make sure that we become a member state of the EU by 2030. Come out to vote because otherwise we risk losing everything we have," noted Maia Sandu.
The Constitutional Court on Thursday evening confirmed the results of the national constitutional referendum of October 20. The Constitution is to be supplemented with Title V first: INTEGRATION INTO THE EUROPEAN UNION.
