After she is invested as President, Maia Sandu will launch consultations with the parliamentary groups so as to find solutions to the pressing problems of the people. “My priorities will be to stop the theft of public funds and the schemes of corruption and to attract resources for Moldova’s economy to prosper. I will work to protect the entrepreneurs, will promote Moldova’s exports and will insist on the redirection of the state resources for supporting the citizens who are most affected by the crisis, the pensioners, the people who lost their jobs, the families in need,” IPN quoted Maia Sandu as saying in a press beefing.

The leader of the Party of Action and Solidarity, who won the elections by 57.75% of the vote according to the preliminary results, said the office of President is a big responsibility for her. “Four years of hard work will follow as many things are to be changed. The Moldovans want a state that would not rob them, but would protect them from thieves, would correctly manage the money gathered from people in taxes, would defend and help its citizens, would respect each citizen and would unite its citizens,” stated Maia Sandu.

“The people want a state with powerful institutions, with public functionaries who abide by the law, not by instructions given by phone, with active institutions that fight abuses without waiting for journalistic investigations. The citizens want a Parliament with members who obey their oath and do not sell themselves. The citizens want a responsible and competent government that acts in the interests of the people.”

Maia Sandu noted that she wants the country to overcome the division and aims to unite society in the domestic policy and in foreign policy. “We should build the foreign policy with dignity so that this brings benefits to our citizens. We should bring Moldova closer to the European standards by reforms and work here, at home. We should strengthen the good neighborhood and strategic partnership relations with Romania and Ukraine,” said the PAS leader.
