The Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) should choose between the vote to dismiss the Chicu Government and an alliance with unwanted MPs or the keeping of the current Cabinet with all the related “consequences”. PAS president Maia Sandu said that this is not an easy decision and, as long as there is no relevant solution, the submission of an eventual no-confidence motion is not discussed.

“Our choice is difficult. On the one hand, if we allow this Government to continue work, we assume all the consequences of this very bad governance and things will worsen in time, especially at economic level. On the other hand, if we try to agree a formula together with those who suit us or those who do not suit us on condition that the Government will look much better, that it consists of honest people and this Government is credible so that it could improve the situation for the country, evidently we will not do it at any cost,” Maia Sandu stated in the talk show “Politics of Natalia Morari” on TV8 channel.

Even if there is no clarity as to the way in which the MPs will vote for the removal of the Chicu Government and who of them will vote for the appointment of a new Cabinet, Maia Sandu said she will not have discussions with MPs of the Shor Party on the issue.

“I told you clearly that we will not discuss with the Shor group. As to the rest, it is hard to do the calculations. If we hadn’t reached that necessity number of MPs, this math, we would have had the solution. Now we do not have it. We will be looking for it. It is probably easier to find votes for the removal of the Government than for appointing a workable Government. As the process is rather difficult, we will have to focus on this part. When we identify the solution, we will return to the subject of the motion too,” stated Maia Sandu.

The PAS president noted the opposition should find a solution given that the current Government no longer copes with the challenges. “We will try to find a Government formula that would help the citizens to easier overcome these crises, including the sanitary crisis, the economic crisis and the crisis that will be caused by the drought in agriculture, or should allow this Government to continue to disdain the people. This is the dilemma. There is no other solution,” said the politician.
