“If there had been more decent people in Parliament, it would have been easier to discuss. Regrettably, as a result of the parliamentary elections of 2019, we have the legislative body we all know,” the president of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) Maia Sandu stated through Facebook Live, when she was asked why the PAS does not seek help from the Democratic parliamentary group so as to together remove the Chicu Government.

IPN quoted Maia Sandu as saying that “we regrettably have to every time fight the bigger evil and build a team with the lesser evil. We will further try to find the most suitable ways so that we could adopt good decisions for the citizens.”

Asked if she believes in an eventual annexation of the Republic of Moldova by the Russian Federation, the politician answered that the Republic of Moldova remains in the sphere of influence of Russia and Igor Dodon and the members of the Party of Socialists are currently the agents of influence of Russia in Moldova and they promote Russia’s interests to the detriment of Moldovan citizens’ interests.

As to this autumn’s presidential elections, Maia Sandu said it is very important for the parties that want to contribute to removing Igor Dodon from power to conduct an election campaign that will be aimed not against other pro-European parties, but against those who are corrupt.

The PAS president noted she is ready to take over governance and assured that her party is disposed to continue the initiated reforms right from the point where they were interrupted after the Sandu Government was dismissed.
