The Party of Action and Solidarity’s candidate Maia Sandu said Igor Dodon should leave and the only debate to which he should go is that with the prosecutors. However, out of respect for the citizens, she will go to a debate with him on neutral ground, IPN reports.
“Out of respect for the people who deserve to hear the responses of the one who has received the salary of President during four years, about the wrongdoings he committed, I will go to a debate on neutral ground. The details of this debate will be agreed by the staffs and will be made public,” Maia Sandu stated in a press briefing.
The PAS leader noted that after four years, Igor Dodon comes with promises and threats, because he achieved no result. Even his promises sound threatening. “We can tell him that he will soon leave and will calm down. Igor Dodon, after he avoided the debates, now sees that he loses the elections and wants debates. The people said it clearly – Igor Dodon does not deserve to hold office of President,” stated Maia Sandu.
The politician noted the results of the first round clearly show that the Moldovans want their country to become a normal state, with good living standards in which one could raise their children, have a job, enjoy normal services provided by the state institutions, have their businesses protected from abuses, have access to a correct justice system and pay reasonable prices for gas, drugs, electricity and other bare essentials.
