By 2020, the government will put forward a "solidarity budget". According to the prime minister, the document entails that the entire society will be in solidarity with people who have low incomes. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Maia Sandu, during the TV8 show "Politica Nataliei Morari", explained that the budget will include two projects that aim to address the issue of poverty.

"Despite the fact that resources are scarce because the economy went through hard times and failed to grow, people were not encouraged to invest, on the contrary, people closed their businesses and tried to move their businesses abroad due to a lack of trust, the government put forward a budget plan called the "solidarity budget" which attempts to show solidarity with people with low income", said Maia Sandu.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers explained that this budget will have several social programs that will target people with low incomes. "In the context of the aid program for the cold period of the year, we want to increase allowances from 350 lei per month to 500 lei for the 2020 budget. Moreover, we want to expand the program by increasing the number of allowance beneficiaries”, said Maia Sandu.

Additionally, the "solidarity budget" will involve a new program which supports persons with low incomes, in particular pensioners with incomes below 1500 lei per month, by issuing an allowance for electricity consumption. "We intend to cover 400 thousand pensioners, which, unfortunately, is the number of people with lower pension than this threshold", said the prime minister.
