The candidate for President of the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) Maia Sandu submitted a generalizing complaint about violations identified in the presidential runoff to the Central Election Commission (CEC).
The PAS team answered to an inquiry by IPN about the filed complaint, saying over 3,000 complaints by persons who could not vote were submitted to precinct electoral bureaus abroad on Election Day. The electoral bureaus, according to procedures, remitted them to the CEC. The decision of the CEC is not yet known.
The PAS team also said that it facilitated the submission to the CEC of over 200 complaints from Moldovans from the diaspora who were unable to vote on November 13 and to file then challenges to electoral bureaus.
In an appeal to the people, Maia Sandu said she will make public the plans for the future after the CEC pronounces on the complaint about violations in elections.
Maia Sandu lost the presidential runoff with almost 48% of the vote as her challenger, Socialist leader Igor Dodon won over 52% of the ballot.
