The leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) Maia Sandu said she refused to make statements in the hearings staged by the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the circumstances of the presupposed interference by the Foundation “Otwarty Dialog” and its founder Ludmila Kozlowska. On a social networking site, Maia Sandu wrote that she demands to be summoned to a public meeting, not to a meeting held behind closed doors, IPN reports.
The PAS leader said the organization of a meeting behind closed doors on the alleged illegal financing of the PAS, with the only evidence being her participation in a public event in the European Parliament, shows that Moldova’s legislative body is not interested in learning the truth and in ensuring the people’s right to information. If the MPs really wanted to get at the truth, they would hold public hearings with the presence of the press so that the citizens of the Republic of Moldova are informed.
Maia Sandu said the intentionally disseminated lies, including by MPs, about the financing of the PAS should be revealed also in Parliament and also publicly. “I demand to be called to a public meeting so that I could address all the citizens, not to a meeting held behind closed doors by a commission that consists of loyal representatives of the Plahotniuc-Dodon regime,” wrote the politician.
The Parliament’s press service informed that the hearings planned for this week by the commission of inquiry into the circumstances of interference by the Foundation “Otwarty Dialog” and its founder Ludmila Kozlowska in Moldova’s internal affairs and of financing of particular political parties were postponed until November 12. The decision was taken following requests made by persons who were to be questioned. These argued that they cannot take part in them.
