The leader of the Action and Solidarity Party Maia Sandu, ex-Prime Minister, would return to Parliament if she runs in the new elections in constituency No. 38 Hâncești, where new parliamentary elections will be held after Democratic MP Alexandru Botnari vacated the seat of MP, considers former Deputy Prime Minister Alexandru Muravski. According to him, Hâncești is one of the constituencies in central Moldova where the ACUM bloc has now great influence and the Democratic Party does not have a powerful figure to compete with Maia Sandu here, IPN reports.

Alexandru Muravschi noted yet that if Maia Sandu decides to run for a new seat of MP, she will take risks as if she loses the elections, she will suffer a serious blow to her image. “Things should be carefully analyzed, but I think she has very big chances of winning,” he said.

Political commentator Boris Shapovalov anticipated that Maia Sandu will take part in the presidential elections. The removal of the Sandu Government on November 12 this year was in fact the start of the campaign preceding the presidential elections for Maia Sandu. “There is one more year before the presidential elections. If everything goes well as regards the budget and the technocratic Government of Ion Chicu and the executive delivers good results during the next half a year, Maia Sandu has no chance of winning the presidential elections,” he said.

According to the commentator, Maia Sandu, is an important figure on the right, unlike the leader of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase, who remained second or should even leave politics. As regards the eventual candidacy of Maia Sandu in constituency No. 38, where the Democratic Party and the Socialists have powerful influence, neither the PDM nor the PSRM need the PAS leader to enter Parliament.
