Our duty today is to take care of it, to protect it and to create a modern, prosperous and friendly city for the future generations. Many happy returns, Chisinau – city in which at least one third of the inhabitants of the Republic of Moldova live and work,” says President Maia Sandu’s congratulatory message on the occasion of Chisinau City’s Day.
The official noted that Chisinau is a place that during its 586-year history gathered together different cultures and people and became “home” for everyone. “We each have our own life story with regard to Chisinau but no matter where we are, we carry in our hearts a place situated in the capital of the Republic of Moldova,” says the message posted on social media.
Mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said that Chisinau improves daily. “I’m proud of the team I have behind me – partners, invitees, delegates from the East and the West. We are proud of what we can do best for Chisinau,” the mayor said in his congratulatory message.
“We should be proud of our excellent and extraordinary people who are many in number and different, from talented children who represent us at Olympiads, athletes who win top places in the world, those who built this Chisinau, older people to the famous people who have. This year we celebrate the 85th birthday of master Eugen Doga, who is an universal composer. We have what to be proud of.”
Chisinau City’s Day is celebrated on October 14 and 15. The events held on this occasion include concerts, painting exhibitions, craft fairs, presentations of traditional dishes.
