The Bloc ACUM is against the country’s federalization and its position will not change, Prime Minister Maia Sandu stated in a program on the public TV channel Moldova 1. She noted that even if the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration was nominated by the Socialists, the vote in the executive is common and if this Deputy Prime Minister submits federalization proposals, these will not be supported, IPN reports.

“He has a vote in the Cabinet. If he suggests ideas we will consider inappropriate, these ideas will evidently not be supported. If he comes up with good ideas, we will support him. The vote must be of a majority in the Cabinet,” stated the politician, referring to published videos showing President Igor Dodon and the Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc speaking about an eventual coalition that was allegedly based on a secret agreement one of whose points envisioned Moldova’s federalization. Maia Sandu noted this situation should be examined by an independent Prosecutor’s Office.

As to Prosecutor General Eduard Harunjen, the Premier said it would be better if this resigned. Even if he does not do this, they started work on the amendment of the law on the prosecution service and the chief of this service will have to leave anyway.

Maia Sandu stated the current members of the Constitutional Court fully discredited this institution and such a situation should be stopped as the CC should not take decisions depending on the political context and the judges of this Court should now tender their resignations.

The Prime Minister also said that she agreed with the National Bank of Moldova for this to make an approach to Kroll Company and ask for a copy of the report on the bank fraud. “But we will have to also investigate the period between  2010 and 2012, which Kroll didn’t cover. I already ordered to make requests to a number of foreign governments so that they assist us in the investigation process,” stated Maia Sandu, adding there is an agency for the recovery of stolen assets, but this does nothing.
