After the Parliament voted on June 8, 2019, the Statement on Recognizing the Captive Nature of the State, the society witnessed some alleged legal changes, says Vitalie Șalari, mayor of Băcioi commune. The mayor says that on July 25, the Superior Council of Magistracy decided to remove from the administrative functions several "tools of the Plahotniuc mafia regime", but instead of starting the "lustration process of the judges, their victimization process started". Vitalie Șalari addressed the governors, noting that "the mafia representatives had infiltrated long ago in their ranks to deliver the coup de grace to them at the right moment."
During a press conference, Vitalie Șalari said that he dazedly heard that "the fresh judge of the Chisinau Court Victoria Sanduţa is among the 31 judges who have signed an appeal to the Superior Council of Magistracy to ensure their independence through legal, transparent and objective decisions". "Do not you know, honourable, who are the ones who captured the judicial system? If you do not know, I answer you - exactly those who during the electoral campaign for the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019 were hosted on February 22 by your parents at your wedding hall in Băcioi commune, Chișinău municipality, and namely: Plahotniuc, Candu, Botnari, Filip Ţuţu, etc. who, I believe, talked anything but independent and fair justice, for which you advocate", said Vitalie Șalari.
The mayor of Băcioi commune also said that Victoria Sanduţa, when she was a lawyer, used methods of pressure on judges. "Or have you forgotten in whose judicial processes you used these methods? I remind you - one of these cases being your own father’s, Ion Bivol, who, as a member of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova, in the exercise of the two mayoralties of Băcioi commune, has brought out of the property of our locality tens and hundreds of lands for construction", said Vitalie Șalari.
"The State must be removed from the hands of the mafia not with "white gloves". Do not try to convince the mafia representatives to capitulate. Wasted efforts. They have infiltrated your ranks long ago and are waiting for the right moment to apply "coup de grace" to you. It is true that the country must be returned to citizens by legal means, but by drastic legislative measures. Do not disappoint the people. Otherwise, you will soon be charged very hard," Vitalie Șalari said.
On a different note, the mayor urged citizens to come in large numbers Tuesday, July 30, at the headquarters of the Superior Council of Magistracy to support the candidacy of Domnica Manole for constitutional judge. In his opinion, Domnica Manole has demonstrated his professional qualities to become a constitutional judge.
