The Social-Political Movement “European Action” (MAE) calls upon the political forces from the Opposition to participate in possible early parliamentary elections under a joint list. “For the Communists to be overthrown so that Moldova could follow the path to European integration, we must run in the early legislative elections under a National List,” the MAE leader Anatol Petrencu said on Tuesday, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “The April 5 elections showed that the Democrats lost the elections because the parties are estranged and not united,” Petrencu said. “It is the worst recommendation that a party can make to another party,” the MAE leader said, when commenting on the call of the three Opposition parties – the PL, PLDM and AMN – not to take part in possible early elections, addressed to the other anticommunist parties. Ion Neagu, first vice president of the MAE, considers that “this call will lead to a lower voter turnout.” “I think that the April 5 elections and the April 7 events must be a lesson for the Opposition parties. The parties that entered the Parliament must propose reasonable solutions for the parties that share the same ideas so as to simplify the elections that are expected to be tough,” said Nicolae Rosca, vice president of the MAE. “The lack of a joint list is a bad variant for us all. If the anticommunist parties reject the MAE’s offer, we will then decide how to participate in elections,” Anatol Petrencu said.
