The head of the European Action Movement (MAE) Veaceslav Untila Monday presented himself at the Prosecutor’s Office of Chisinau’s Ciocana district to seek explanations over the tapping of his phone in July-September 2009. “I will submit an application and demand that the persons involved in this case be held accountable,” Veaceslav Untila said before entering the Prosecutor’s Office, Info-Prim Neo reports. Veaceslav Untila was informed about the fact that his calls had been listened to by the Prosecutor General’s Office. Asked why his phone was tapped to his mind, Veaceslav Untila, who benefited from parliamentary immunity in that period, said the phones of a number of MPs last summer were tapped in order to make them vote in favor of a Communist head of state. They knew about it long before, but did not have proofs. The MAE leader said such acts constitute serious violations of the human rights. Earlier, the chairman of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Serafim Urecheanu informed that his phone conversations had been listened to by order of the former administration.
