“They are still children and commit mistakes until they grow up. We expect them back after they realize what politics is,” the vice president of the European Action Movement (MAE) Iurie Colesnic said, referring to the decision of about 100 young members of the party to join the Movement “Democratia Acasa” /Democracy at Home/, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Moldova suffers from an illness called 'partiditis' (from party – e.n.). If three Moldovans sit at one table, they will realize in they end that they are members of six parties. We aim to join the political forces that want to work for the people. We cannot hinder those who try to move mountains,” Iurie Colesnic said.
As to the accusations that the young members of the MAE are neglected, Colesnic said: “The members of our party who want to work do it and there is a lot of work to be done.”
Iurie Colesnic also said that the MAE wants to improve the living conditions in Moldova. “The Moldovan people deserve better living standards,” he stressed.
About 100 young members of the European Action Movement announced that they defected from the party and joined the Democracy at Home Movement. In a news conference on April 16, representatives of the young people said they do not have chances to assert themselves in the MAE.
