“Made in Moldova” exhibition opened at Moldexpo

Food products, consumer goods and services are on display at the ”Made in Moldova” exhibition that was opened at the Moldexpo Exhibitions Center today, February 1. The event includes business and cultural programs and will last until February 5, IPN reports.

Attending the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said that the producers the last few years have experienced multiple interconnected crises, such as the consequences of the pandemic, rises in prices and production costs, but they anyway manage to work successfully, to increase the number of jobs and to find new markets. As last year, the national producers this year will get subsidies for the first 500 cubic meters of gas consumed monthly.

The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova Sergiu Harea said the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Moldova this year will take part in the exhibition with a common stand of Italian producers. The business program that will be implemented during the five days of the event includes a Moldova-Romania Business Forum that will involve over 120 entrepreneurs from the two countries, a Wine Sector Conference, a roundtable meeting centering on green economy and other events that are important for national businesses.

EU Ambassador in Chisinau Janis Mazeiks said that despite the faced economic crisis and despite the war in Ukraine, the Moldovan producers are going strong. The European Union stands by the producers in Moldova. “We are the largest market for Moldovan producers. Two thirds of Moldova’s exports are intended for the markets of the European Union. We are ready to further ensure this,” stated the diplomat.

Aurelian Gogulescu, president of the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry, noted that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania considers the partnership with the Moldovan counterpart is a special, strong and traditional relationship that was developed in time and is aimed at the European dimension of the bilateral cooperation, being based on the strategic objective of European integration of the Republic of Moldova. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania has promoted and approved any initiative to participate in partnerships within European projects, supporting this way the pro-European course of the Republic of Moldova.
