More than 350 companies from Moldova, Romania, Belarus, and Ukraine, which are members of the Central European Free Trade Agreement, are taking part in the tenth exhibit “Made in Moldova”, which sums up the results of the entrepreneurial year, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the opening of the event, Prime Minister Vlad Filat thanked the producers for their resistance and wished them to become more competitive. “The Government aims to improve the business climate and to promote structural reforms,” Vlad Filat said.
Ludmila Negruta, president of the National Association of Producers, said the range of products exhibited this year is very varied. “A lot of new products of a high quality have been launched lately. We, the producers, have only one request to the Government: to stop the products of a poor quality and counterfeits from entering the market. More and more companies are implementing quality management systems and new technologies and extend the kinds of activity. Seventeen districts and the Autonomous Unit of Gagauzia are taking part in the exhibition with collective stands,” Negruta said.
The additional program of the exhibition includes ten seminars and six roundtable meetings that will center on export promotion, agricultural subsidies, the fiscal and customs policy, technical standards and regulations. A roundtable meeting involving companies from the Czech Republic will take place on Wednesday, February 2. The winners of the Trademark of 2010 contest will be awarded on February 3.
A jobs fair staged by the National Employment Agency will be held as part of the exhibition that will continue until February 5. This year, the 11 companies taking part in the fair provide 1,676 jobs.
The exhibit is organized by the Chamber of Trade and Industry under the Government's auspices.
