Lupu to visit Russia next week

Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu will travel to St. Petersburg next week to attend the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The Speaker told reporters this will offer him the opportunity to discuss a number of issues in the relationship with Russia. “I have also observed a number of drawbacks on a technical and practical level in the relationship with the Russian Federation. This concerns me, especially considering how promising and positive actions and meetings at the highest level have been lately. The results are at variance with expectations. In St. Petersburg, I will use the opportunity of meetings at high parliamentary level to broach these issues and inform myself as comprehensively as possible”, said Marian Lupu. Earlier this week, nearly a hundred Moldovan trucks carrying fruit and vegetables were stuck at the Russian customs terminal in Bryansk.
