The Government approved a bill to increase the lump sum that is provided to particular categories of pensioners in assistance from 700 lei to 900 lei as of October 1 this year, IPN reports.
The lump sum is provided to recipients of old-age pensions, disability pensions, heir’s pension, pensions intended for former civil aviation employees, public servants and particular employees of the cultural sector and other categories of pensioners with pensions lower than 3,000 lei a month.
As many as 659,886 pensioners will benefit from raised sums.
The Government also approved the second stage of pension indexation, as from October 1. For pensioners whose pension is lower than 3,000 lei, the indexation will represent 5.6%, while for those whose pensions are higher than 3,000 lei – 1.7%.
