Ludmila Cristea ranks eighth at World Wresting Champs

Freestyle wrestler Ludmila Cristea, 59 kg class, finished eighth at the World Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships held in the Danish town of Herning, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Moldovan athlete won against Cuba's Yamilca Del Valle Alvarez and Venezuela's Mirna Henriquez, but was beaten by Agata Pietrzyk from Poland and Katharine Patroch from Canada. Earlier, Alexandru Burca and Natalia Budu finished fifth. The men's team takes the 17th position out of 49 countries, while the women's team is now the eleventh of 52 countries. Moldovan wrestlers Andrian Mocanu (84 kg) and Anatolie Moldovan (96 kg) enter the Greco-Roman wrestling competition on September 25. Vladimir Zaporojan (66 kg) will be the last to join them. More than 500 wrestlers from over 50 countries have participated in the World Champs this year.
