Liberal-Democratic MP Chiril Lucinschi said he heard rumors that he may be named Moldova’s Ambassador to Russia, but he has not been yet summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. He stated that if this post is offered to him, he is ready to cope with the challenges, but is not sure that he will accept it, Info-Prim Neo reports. Speaker Marian Lupu, who heads the Democratic Party, told the press that they did not consider the possibility of fielding Chiril Lucinschi for this post within the alliance. A number of candidates are examined and the answer will be made public when a decision is taken. The leader of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said that they did not discuss the possible candidacy of Chiril Lucinschi for Ambassador to Russia within the alliance and the party. Moldova’s Ambassador in Moscow Andrei Neguta was recalled on April 25. The reasons haven’t been made known. Earlier, the diplomat was accused of making statements about the Transnistrian region that do not coincide with the official position of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
