The Russian Youth League (LTR) denies the assertions made by the Association of Historians of Moldova, according to which the proposal to introduce the History of Moldova subject in schools instead of the History of Romanians was made by 'Russians engineers'. In a news conferee on Tuesday, the League said the resolution to introduce the mentioned subject was adopted by Moldovan students, Info-Prim Neo reports. The participants in a roundtable meeting held by the LTR on November 22 adopted a resolution on the necessity of introducing the History of Moldova, not the History of Romanians in schools. The document was based on the expressed opinions, according to which the history is ethnocratic in character and is based on Romanian conceptions and the supporters of the Romanian history do not recognize the Moldovan people and laws. The Association of Historians of Moldova said such conclusions belong to persons who do not represent academic or scientific communities, naming them 'engineers', as the LTR head Igor Tuleantev said. In this connection, the Association condemned Russia for interfering in Moldova's education policy. Igor Tuleantev replied that the roundtable meeting was attended by Moldovan students and this fact confirms that the resolution was adopted by Moldovans, not Russians, as the Association suggested. The leader of Ravnopravie Movement Valery Klimenko, the member of the Russian State Duma Maxim Mishchenko and the head of Molodaya Gvardya organization Alexei Liubtsov took part in the meeting as invitees. Igor Tuleantev also said that Moldova promotes foreign trends that form wrong views among the Moldovan youth. “The History of Romanians is the history of a Romanian state and we do not want to learn a foreign history,” he said. The Russian Youth League of Moldova submitted the adopted resolution to the Ministry of Education, Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Chisinau City Hall and other competent institutions. The League says that if the answer is negative, they will look for another solutions.
