A consignment of 17 tonnes of food and hygiene products and other essentials was transferred directly to the Moldovan mayor’s offices and centers that house refugees. The assistance was provided by the local public authorities of Romania with the assistance of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Government of Romania, IPN reports.

Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Daniel Ioniță said the local authorities of Romania mobilized in an exemplary way and transmitted this lot of humanitarian aid to the Republic of Moldova for the refugees who fled from the premeditated, unjustified and unprovoked Russian military aggression against Ukraine.

Secretary of state of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Government of Romania Adrian Dupu said that Romania, as the Republic of Moldova, is dealing with a huge wave of refugees. These were welcomed by Moldovans, but the possibilities are limited. “That’s why we joined mayor Ciprian Morarescu of Filipestii de Padure in his initiative to support those who fled from war. We this way came to Chisinau with 17 tonnes of food and hygiene products, diapers, children’s foods, blankets, toys and animal feed in humanitarian aid. This will be distributed to refugee centers all over the country,” stated the Romanian official.

Romania shows that it is near the Republic of Moldova in this crisis and makes common cause with the refugees who are now on both banks of the Prut River in a large number.
