Lower inflation in July

The inflation rate in July fell by 0.9% on average compared with June. The prices of food products went down 3.3%, while the prices of non-food products rose 0.3%. The services provided for the population increased 0.7%, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the National Bureau of Statistics.
The decrease in the prices of food products in July stemmed from the seasonal fall in the average prices of agricultural products: fresh vegetables by 24.6%, potatoes by 18.3%, fresh fruit by 17.1%, milk and milk products by 1.2%.
Among non-food products, domestic appliances, footwear and coal got about 0.2% cheaper. At the same time, among food products, the non-alcoholic beverages grew dearer by 6.9%, honey by 3.9%, sausages by 2.3%.
Some of the non-food products grew in price: medicines by 1.0%, detergents by 0.9%, building materials and holiday and travel stuff by 0.5%.
Dwelling rental and stomatology services got dearer by 4.8%, water and sewerage charges by 3.7%, prices in public eateries by 1.2%.
The January-July inflation was 5.3%, as against 5.0% in the corresponding period last year.
The yearly inflation (July 2007-July 2008) was 13.4%, as opposed to 12.0% in July 2007- July 2006.
