The water supplier assures that there is no danger for the inhabitants of Chisinau to remain without running water even if the water in the Nistru River, from which a number of settlements of Moldova are supplied with drinking water, fell to a critical level owing to the very high temperatures, IPN reports.

Given such a situation, SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” (ACC) made an approach to the Agency “Moldova’s Water”, asking it to take the required measures. For its part, the Agency contacted the Ukrainian side, which announced that it will examine the possibility of increasing the volume of water discharged from the reservoir of the Novodnestrovsc Hydrotechnical Complex up to 180-200 m3/second.

According to the Agency “Moldova’s Water”, a volume of 132-135 m3/second will be discharged from the mentioned reservoir during the next few days so as to ensure the normal functioning of the water stations on the Nistru.

The level of water in the Nistru is now 8.4 meters.
