Low interest in TV and radio frequencies contest

Only 15 radio and 7 TV stations submitted applications to purchase those 17 radio and 11 TV frequencies available in the contest. The Coordinating Council on Audiovisual will announce the results of the contest at a meeting which will take place on July 5. The contest includes five frequencies of the radio station “Europa plus Moldova”, three of “Hit FM”, and two of the radio stations “Ecou”, “Univers FM” and “Autoradio” and one of – radio stations “Radio Sangera”, “Vanoles” and “Micul Samaritean”. The most of the TV frequencies included in the contest belonged to “TV Dixi” – 7. Also the auction includes the frequency of “Euro TV Chisinau”, used concurrently with DTV, and the frequency from Ungheni of “Euronova”. Other two frequencies included in the contest are from Taraclia raion and are not used by anyone. According to the Audiovisual Code, the broadcasting licenses are offered for a period of 7 years.
