Low attendance rate at schools and kindergartens

Owing to the cold and low temperatures in schools and kindergartens, the parents prefer to keep their children at home. Last week, 11% of students missed classed, 5% of whom on health grounds. The attendance rate at kindergartens was 66%, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a meeting, the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said that the lessons in some of the schools last for less than 30-35 minutes, while in kindergartens the children sleep dressed. The classes are shorter at the high schools “Grigore Vieru”, “Mihail Lomonosov”, “Mihail Sadoveanu”, “Dimitrie Cantemir”, and “Petru Movila” and at School No. 30.
