The individual house in which ex-President Igor Dodon lives with his family and lots, buildings and vehicles that are allegedly owned through the agency of third persons were sequestrated. Dodon was invited to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office for being handed over a copy of the sequestration decision, IPN reports.
The Prosecutor’s Office said that besides the lot and the individual house on which the former President’s house is situated, there were squatted lots and constructions located near Sadova village of Călărași district, which were registered in the name of persons close to Igor Dodon, who are investigated as accomplices in unjust enrichment, and also four lots and six constructions situated near Molovata village of Dubăsari district, which are owned through Igor Dodon’s brother-in-law who was remanded in custody, and four cars registered in the name of other persons.
Igor Dodon is accused of passive corruption, acceptance of financing for the political party from a criminal organization, treason and unjust enrichment. The politician said this is a political case. Igor Dodon’s wife, who is accused of complicity in unjust enrichment, was banned from leaving the country. Galina Dodon’s brother is in remand detention.
