The owners of farmland situated beyond the Rabnita - Tiraspol road will receive compensations for the losses sustained in 2017-2018 because they were unable to cultivate the land. A decision to this effect was taken by the Cabinet, IPN reports.

The money will be allocated from the Government’s reserve fund in the form of direct payments in the amount of 1,229.68 lei per hectare.

Thus, the Cocieri mayor’s office for 2017-2018 will get 4.02 million lei, the Cosnita mayor’s office – 2.68 million lei, while the Dorotcaia mayor’s office – 6.82 million lei.

Support will also be provided to farmers in Molovata Noua village, in the amount of 1.12 million lei and to those in Parata village, to the value of 1.3 million lei.

The about 16 million lei that will be allocated to the mayor’s offices will be distributed based on regulations approved by the local councils. The allocations will compensate for the losses sustained because the farmers could not cultivate their land and will contribute to the development of the communities in the security zone. Similar compensations were provided the previous years.

The farmers in Dubasari district haven’t had access to the farmland situated beyond the Rabnita - Tiraspol road since 2014. As a result of negotiations between Chisinau and Tiraspol, it was agreed that the access to the farmland will be restored from August 1 this year for a period of 20 years.
