The people formed long lines at the vaccination marathon staged at Palace of Republic early in the morning. Immunization started half an hour before it was planned so that those waiting could be vaccinated faster. About 1,000 persons have been vaccinated during an hour of the start of the marathon, IPN reports.

As many as 4,000 people are to be administered the second Sputnik-V vaccine dose today. The marathon involves 250 health workers and also police officers and volunteers who ensure the safety of the vaccination process. Tents, benches and mobile toilets were set up near the Palace of the Republic.

According to Boris Gîlcă, deputy head of the General Social Assistance and Health Division, about 1,200 persons are vaccinated during an hour. Approximately 2,800 persons got a vaccine by 9am and the lines almost disappeared before the temperatures rose considerably.

Boris Gîlcă said that all the 70 vaccination units in Chisinau, the municipal vaccination center, mobile (trolleybus and bus) points work in parallel with the vaccination marathon at the Palace of Republic and those who want can get Astra Zeneca and Johnson&Johnson vaccines.

The last data of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection show that over 848,000 have been immunized since the launch of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Moldova on March 2. About 350,000 people of these got both of the doses.
