The European Logistics Association and the Government of Moldova will create a partnership to start a project concerning the creation of logistics centres across the country. Minister of Economy and Commerce Igor Dodon recently met with the representative of the European Logistics Association, Head of the Italian Logistics Association, Domenico Netti. The parties discussed about the support the Italian Association could offer for the creation of a legislative framework in the field of electronic trade. “It is important that the legislation in the field of electronic trade in Moldova be framed from the start in compliance with the European standards. This way, in time, it will be possible to ensure the development of electronic trade not only on the domestic market but also on the international one”, Netti said. Igor Dodon mentioned about the high interest of the Government of Moldova in creating a legislative framework for the electronic trade, both for the private and public sectors. According to him, currently a programme for performing purchase operations in the public acquisition sector is being worked out. This way, the implementation of the electronic trade in the field of public acquisitions will ensure the transparency of the operations and will exclude the involvement of the human factor and corruption. The creation of the centres is included in the Strategy for attracting investments and promoting exports for 2006-2015. Igor Dodon previously stated that the Free Economic Zones will be re-evaluated and it will be proposed to create the zones on new principles, including for being able to provide logistics and transport services. The strategy of MEC targets the development of the national economy, by promoting the sectors related to the production of goods and provision of services, where the added value is obtained mainly from intellectual resources.
