The conditions and procedures for certifying locomotive mechanics will be based on rules adjusted to the European norms, as the Cabinet decided at the suggestion of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, IPN reports.
This way, the norms concerning the training, assessment, attestation and supervision of locomotive mechanics will be regulated. The method of issuing the certificate showing the qualification of locomotive mechanics and the criteria for the medical examination of train drivers are also stipulated, as are the procedures for training locomotive mechanics at private training centers in accordance with the Rail Transport Code.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the designing and approval of the regulations concerning the certification of locomotive mechanics will enable to implement the European normative framework and will contribute to increasing safety in rail transport.
