Locomotive injures man severely

A young man was badly injured by a manoeuvre locomotive on Sunday. The accident happened under the bridge close to the Renasterii avenue in Chisinau. Coordinating physician at the Ambulance Service Eufalia Negreaţă has told Info-Prim Neo the man aged 26, a resident of the Farladeni village, Hancesti, was drunk when the engine struck him. The victim is in coma after severe head injuries. The Ambulance doctors hesitate to predict his chances to live. A man died in a car accident on Sunday on the Andrei Doga street in the capital city. Eufalia Negreaţă says the collision happened at 18.00, as tens of witnesses were watching. The unidentified man of 55-58 years of age, was hit by a Toyota. The traumas proved fatal and the man was already dead when the ambulance arrived. A man of 70 was found in the market close to the Ginta Latina street with acute respiratory problems and was hospitalised at „Sfanta Treime” clinic. Two young ladies also reached that hospital after trying to kill themselves swallowing pills, as a third one got poisoned by home-made mushrooms. On Sunday, the ambulance doctors registered 800 calls, of which 57 referred to cases of traumas, 137 to cases of acute virus diseases, 9 to acute coronary syndromes, 5 to head strokes and to 42 cases of mumps.
