Locations of 7 multi-storied car parks in Chisinau have been selected

The Chisinau City Hall has selected 7 unoccupied areas to accommodate multi-storied parking facilities for over 5,000 cars. The plots are to be put up for auction, with at least 20 companies already expressing willingness to bid, announced Deputy Mayor Nistor Grozavu at the City Council's meeting on Tuesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Concurrently with auction activities, the municipal authorities are working to develop specific regulations for multi-storied car parks. The first version of such a document is to be submitted to the City Council by the end of July. A number of parking facilities will emerge in the near future in the city, with the number of parking spots ranging from 150 to 800. The municipal authorities are even considering building an underground parking area beneath the National Assembly Square, the city's central plaza. The parking fees are to be determined by their operators and could start from around 2 to 3 lei an hour or 5 to 10 lei a day, said the deputy mayor. Chisinau has an estimated number of 400,000 cars at 750,000 population.
