A number of taxes levied in the municipality of Chisinau will be higher next year. A draft decision to this effect, approved by the Chisinau Municipal Council, envisions the introduction of new taxes, IPN reports.
Under the draft decision, a monthly tax rate of 300 lei will be levied for each unit of transport on the provision of taxi passenger transportation services.
The tax for running shops, trading centers, cafes, bars and restaurants will be by 5,000 lei higher for each cash register where tobacco products are sold, while at retail outlets that sell alcoholic beverages the tax will rise by 30%. For the retail outlets with prolonged working program, after 11pm, the tax will also be 30% higher.
There will be introduced additional annual taxes on commercial units situated on the street, outside authorized markets. Thus, for stalls that are up to 2 square meters in area, the annual tax rate will be 800 lei, while for mobile retail outlets – 1,600 lei if the area is smaller than 1 square meter. The tax rate will rise together with the extension of the area. The tax rate for currency exchange facilities situated in the historical center of Chisinau will 15,000 lei a year, while for those located outside it – 10,000 lei.
A tax of 4,500 lei a year will be introduced for catering services. For canteens and buffets that serve pre-university, university and curative institutions, the annual tax will be 750 lei, while for the open-type one – 3,000 lei.
New taxes ranging from 2,500 lei to 7,000 lei a year were also introduced on the rental of sports equipment, cars and other units of transport, clothing and accessories. An annual tax rate of 3,000 lei was also introduced on halls with playing equipment for children.
The outdoor advertising tax will rise from 500 to 700 lei per square meter, while for LED devices that broadcast more adverts will be 1,000 de lei.
The period for paying local taxes and presenting tax reports are set quarterly, by the date of 25 of the next quarter.
