The mayoralty of municipality Chisinau will require to Muncipal Council to allot economic facilities for future public, which shall be built in the capital and its suburbs. The interim mayor, Vasile Ursu, said that the price of 1 cubic meter of water used in these baths should be equal to the price of the water for home consumers.
Ursu, who did not specify the number of necessary baths or the resources of these, required to mayors of the villages of suburbs to present information on the number of inhabitants who have hot water and would go to a public. The interim mayor underlined that future baths will be viable only in case when they will pay less that the businessmen – 14.9 lei per 1 cubic meter, comparing to 2.62 lei paid by home consumers.
The mayors of the suburbs supported the idea to re-establish the baths, noting that the population express the will for their construction, but they said that local authorities could not finance the works of money lack. According to the mayor of the village Colonita, Maria Iarmenco, the bath of this village does not work for 18 years, being destroyed completely. The local budget can contribute with 100,000 lei to build a new one, Iarmenco said.
A public bath is needed in the village Bacioi, where there are 2 apartment blocs with any water supply and sewerage systems, mayor Ion Bivol mentioned, adding that the mayoralty could not allot anything for its construction.
In the village Truseni, a public bath works since 2001, being built by a businessman, at the request of local public authorities. The mayor, Mihai Secrieru, noted that the community bath is arranged such a way that it became a rest place for inhabitants.
There is a single public bath in Chisinau, but which does not work for many years. A public bath shall be open in October, in the district Ciocana, having the capacity of 150 persons. According to the district head, Ion Gabura, a businessman made the investment, and the construction works were done in proportion of 70%. Gabura did not mention the company building the bath.
